A full moon happens when the sun is opposing the moon, illuminating what has come full circle for us. Today the moon is in Scorpio and the sun is directly opposite in Taurus. Let’s talk about what this means and how we can work with the magic of today’s full moon in Scorpio.
Full moons initiate conclusions, endings and goodbyes. Where could you use some closure? What is the sun in earthy, grounded Taurus shining a light on in the more fluid, watery sign of Scorpio? Everyone has every sign in their birth chart. To personalize this full moon and gain more insight, check to see which house Scorpio is in for you and reflect on that part of your life as you continue reading.
Because the moon influences how we feel and is in the exceptionally sensitive and intuitive sign of Scorpio, I want to speak to how we can support our intuition and emotional well-being. As a strong believer in the mind-body connection, I love relating astrology to our mental, physical and spiritual health so let’s get into it.
Mind 🧠
I’ll always advocate for journaling because it has been (and continues to be) so helpful on my self discovery and personal growth journey. The best part about journaling is looking back on what I’ve written. There’s always something to reflect on, often reminders of epiphanies that were cathartic in the moment but quickly forgotten cause… life.
Journaling also shows you where you’ve been in comparison to where you are now and where you’re headed. Your journal is your accountability buddy! Don’t think you need accountability? We all do. Don’t want accountability? Then you’re probably someone who needs it most.
If journaling sounds challenging or foreign, just grab a notebook and start writing about your day. You can set intentions in the morning or reflect on the day at night. You’ll be surprised as a stream of consciousness starts to flow. Don’t let an idea of what journaling “should be” hold you back. This is a very personal practice, unique to each of us. Here are some full moon prompts to get you started:
+ Considering the house the full moon is in for me, what is being highlighted?
+ What has run it’s course in this part of my life and needs closure?
+ How would applying emotional sensitivity and my intuition to this part of my life be beneficial and how can I go about doing so?
Body 🧘🏾♀️
Scorpio, known for how sexually driven they are, rules our sex organs and reproductive systems. Taurus on the other hand is known for how sensual they are. So what’s the difference between sexuality and sensuality?
I think of sexuality as more related to the act of sexual intercourse and sensuality as more of the feeling of sexuality expressed rather than the act itself- the foreplay before the foreplay. Sensuality is how we romanticize life and indulge in our senses; the smells, textures, tastes, sights and sounds that light us up.
Keep in mind that there are nuances to this just like everything in life. Scorpio is often played up to be the sexual deviant while Taurus is known for their slow, thorough approach to seduction as well as everything else. However! Because these two are sister signs (aka opposing one another) the differences between them often intersect.
This full moon, while the sun is in Taurus and the moon is in Scorpio, is a great time to explore your relationship with sexuality and sensuality. My description of each doesn’t have to be yours. What do these two things mean to you? How do you feel about them? Which narratives and practices involving your sexuality and sensuality do you want to eliminate to make room for new ones? These questions would make great journal prompts as well.
Stuck sexual energy? Unsure how to answer these questions for yourself? Vigorous physical movement, yoni steams and sacral chakra clearings are the resources I recommend.
Soul 🧿
Our intuition and our ancestors hold the truth of our soul. The veil is thin during a Scorpio full moon (Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, lord of the underworld) which makes accessing our intuition easier than usual. But why would you want to access the truth of your soul? To set yourself free. Our intuition and ancestors hold the key to unlock our best, most aligned lives. Here’s how to have a chat with them:
• Create an altar if you haven’t already. If this thought overwhelms you, keep it simple, easy and inexpensive. The goal is to honor and conjure the essence of loved ones who’ve deceased so add photos and trinkets that remind you of them or once belonged to them. Light a candle, give thanks for their guidance and ask questions. You can meditate, listen to calming music, stretch or indulge in some breathwork while waiting for the answers.
Stay open to how messages may be presented. They don’t always come through as a literal voice although they can. Messages also appear in dreams, oracle cards or a coincidence that seems more meaningful than it does coincidental. Maybe the same number or animal or topic keeps popping up. Or sometimes it’s just a knowing. Trust yourself when it hits you.
• Spend time in or around water. Remember- Scorpio is a water sign. The fluidity of water welcomes an intuitive awareness that can be easily overlooked so pay attention while soaking in a tub, hanging by a lake or taking a dip in a pool.
• If your channel is wide open as is and what you need is Taurus’ more rooted nature instead, get dirty. Yup, that’s right. Walk around barefoot in your yard, do some gardening, hug a tree, build something with your hands while the sun warms your face. Taurus loves getting tactile out in nature. Fresh air, sunshine, blue sky and green trees are proven to reset and regulate our nervous systems. Try it and lmk what you think.
Til next week,
:) Ferris
