Summer Solstice
Summer solstice - aka the longest day of the year - happens this Friday! Fun, right?! Imagine the ways you could celebrate this magical moment. What a wonderful time to spend the day outdoors and soak up the extra sunlight. The sun is our source of vitality and nourishes us like no other celestial being does. We literally revolve around the sun; it’s at the center of our universe and we could not live without it.
With that being said - here’s some of the ways I’ll be welcoming the abundant energy of the sun and summer with open arms!
Aromatherapy
My Inhale essential oil blend combined with a bit of clary sage is the perfect summer mix! It’s deliciously refreshing and uplifting. If you don’t have my pre-mixed blend, you can combine (1) part peppermint (1) part spearmint and (6) parts sweet orange. Adding about (2) parts clary sage anchors this combo just a bit without overriding its freshness.
Feel free to ask about adding aromatherapy to your next treatment with me! :)
*Always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil or lotion before applying to your skin.
Connection
One of my values I’m focusing on cultivating more of this year is connection. My social battery often runs low so the quality of time spent socializing is important. This summer I want to connect with loved ones →in person← as much as possible while leaving space for new connections as well. I’m super looking forward to creating, laughing, ideating and engaging in meaningful conversations outdoors under the summer sun this year!
Farmers’ Markets
I’ve been working on appreciating each season for what it has to offer as a practice in presence. Indulging in fresh, locally made/grown foods is an easy, enjoyable way to do just that. This is why I love farmers’ markets! Especially during the warmer months; when the sun is shining and my favorite fruit and veggies are in season. Earlier this spring I decided to try and visit as many different farmers’ markets in the Bay Area as possible.
✨ Here’s the list that inspired it all! ✨
I’ve been to 3 new markets this year so far - Santana Row, Evergreen and Princeton Plaza in San Jose. Next up for me to check out is the Pier 39 market in San Fransisco. Two of my favorites that I would recommend are Campbell (if you like larger markets) and Los Gatos (if you prefer smaller ones).
Happy summer, folks! 🌞

StarBody Report
Cancer season begins this weekend when the sun follows Jupiter’s lead into the fourth sign of the zodiac. This will be a strong introduction to summer with both the sun and Jupiter newly in Cancer, but maybe not in the way you might expect.
Cancer season, which often asks us to go inward, will be backed by the expansiveness of Jupiter - meaning Cancer’s influence will be heightened. This is an invitation to slow down and connect with a deeper, more intuitive and nurturing side of ourselves.
Often the word “summer” sparks something in us that wants to get up, get out and go, go, go but this time, I encourage you to spend Cancer season however you feel. Cancer is a water sign so being in or around a lake, pool or the ocean is a beautiful way to go with the flow this summer while not overexerting yourself. Water is immensely healing and calming, even taking a bath will do the trick.
If the June gloom is hitting a little too hard (we’ll thank Jupiter in Cancer for that 😬) you may need to balance this heavily emotional water energy with the grounding essence of earth. Remember- the call is nurture which can often be fulfilled in nature. Get outside and get your hands dirty, take a walk or have a picnic under a tree.
Tending to your body during Cancer season, for emotional regulation and intuitive clarity, looks like focusing on your belly, breasts and chest.
These soft, warm places of our bodies are where we hold Cancer’s maternal inclination. Try an energetic heart chakra or solar plexus chakra clearing. Because we carry an ample amount of lymph nodes in our belly, some abdominal lymphatic drainage is another option for optimizing your health this zodiac season.
Til next week,
:) Ferris
