Back to Balance
I welcome you to follow me on Instagram and tune into this conversation Iβll be having with my friend, Kat, of Be the Change Collective! Iβm excited for this because BTCC has played an instrumental role in my wellness journey over the last decade. Join Kat and I as we discuss how my work helps bring your mind, body and spirit back to balance.
Photo of the week: Thanks to my friend, Wendi, for this photo idea while walking to dinner a couple weeks ago! Our nacho nights on Thursdays have quickly become one of my favorite days of the week.

Howβs that full moon total lunar eclipse in Pisces hangover treating you? Yes, the energy from our last full moon on September 7th, which was accompanied by an eclipse, is still looming and I'm curious- what came up for you?
Surely there was an abrupt or even almost violent ending that presented itself. Or maybe for you, like me, it was something that you were aware was nearing its end for awhile now. In that case, the goodbye wasn't quite as jarring or surprising, but felt more like a welcome wave of release guided by the water sign that is Pisces.
Next up is a new moon partial solar eclipse in Virgo where the sun and moon will be sharing space this Sunday. Although there is some challenge presented when the sunβs radiance and influence is eclipsed, I donβt anticipate this transit will be quite as emotional. But insightful and impactful? Yes.
Weβre talking about the sun, our source of vitality, so I do expect to feel low on energy. Maybe, instead of working with the new moon as we typically do to manifest, we let the manifestations roll in on their own. New moons equate new beginnings and what a wonderful time to set some new intentions while simultaneously releasing any false sense of controlling how theyβll materialize.
If you could use a pick me up this week, keep reading for some simple, nourishing wellness practices.

First- check to see which house Virgo is in for you to personalize this transit. This house is where the new moon solar eclipse will be, so you can use this information as guidance to know where in your life youβre calling in renewal. Remember to keep in mind what you were invited to let go of (or what was not so gently ripped away) during the total lunar eclipse a week ago.

Iβve written lots about lavender this Virgo season because, like Virgo, lavender is ruled by the planet Mercury. Mercury governs the mind and because Mercury is currently in Virgo (with the sun and soon, the new moon eclipse too) our chances of mental overwhelm and anxiousness are amplified.
As an aspiring astroherbalist whoβs rather new to this, Iβve been choosing to work with plants that are familiar and easily accessible. Lavender is definitely one of those plants for me. One way to use lavender to calm the mind is to add some to a jar of raw local honey. I did this two weeks ago so that by the time the new moon solar eclipse hits, it will be ready to use in tea or homemade lemonade. Yum!
TIP: Try making a lavender simple syrup for a quicker alternative.

Virgo rules the digestive system so itβs important to nurture (<β keyword when the moon is involved) your gut this eclipse season. We are more prone to stomachaches, constipation, gas, bloating, food sensitivities, nausea and things of that nature during this time.
Itβs important to steer clear of what you tend to push the limits on that your belly can only sometimes tolerate. Consider a simple clean diet, probiotics/prebiotics, fiber rich foods and plenty of water this week- depending on your particular needs. Abdominal focused bodywork such as massage therapy and lymphatic drainage are great for digestion as well.
Til next week,
:) Ferris
