First things first, fried chicken! This was at Kitchen and Kocktails in Charlotte. The food was just ok but makes a pretty picture, right?
Breakfast the next morning at a cute cafe called Yolk.
Auntie Candy and Pierce. Pierce loooovesss family time so it was really cute to see these two together. Thereβs something so special about multiple generations laughing, learning and loving together.
Our next stop was Camp North End where we browsed shops and eateries. This shop, Grow, specializes in plants and local goods.
Pierce on a swing we stumbled upon.
Camp North End also has this fun area with giant Leggos! I soaked up all the color and took photos while these two got to buildingβ¦
VoilΓ ! This was the end result, a fort-like structure. Pierce was very proud of it and strategic about choosing the colors. Know why he chose the purple top for the red and blue walls? Thoughtful, right?
Becoming Wild. My autobiography title? π€π
Goodbye Camp North End and Charlotte! After one night in the city, it was time to head to auntie Candyβs house in Wadesboro.
Couldnβt pass this local produce stand without grabbing some strawberry shortcake!
I grabbed some honey too. I love bringing local honey home when I travel so I was super stoked about this. Everything in NC is way less expensive than in CA. This honey was $12 and wouldβve cost twice as much in San Jose. Score!
Next, we pulled up to auntie Candyβs house and itβs the cutessssst!
Auntie bought this home about two years ago and COMPLETELY renovated it. I love the archways! The art on her walls is by a very old friend of hers. I grew up surrounded by his art- very nostalgic.
This shot is of the back of her home and her new greenhouse.
Auntie Candy and her 6 y/o neighbor friend strolling her property.
She lives on 3.4 acres of land littered with trees.
The kids feeding auntieβs chickens.
Outing to a neighboring small town, Matthews.
Pit stop to get some BBQ at The Smoke Pit before heading back to Wadesboro.
Tarot card pulls on a rainy, thundery night.
I took some time this day to watch the clouds and the birds. What I intended to be a device free moment turned into me rushing into the house to grab my phone and capture this before it passed cause πππ
Auntie Candy is an excellent cook! This particular morning she made steamed eggs with all the fixins.
Our last day in NC auntie Candy showed me how to make the body butter sheβs been whipping up half my life. Itβs decedent, moisturizing and all natural. I might make some for you all one day so stay tuned!
